Tam O Shanter
A slow start and a little indulgent in many ways. Having said that the contribution of Communicado was fabulous the use of puppetry in the Alloway church scene and the gobsmackng dancing of Cutty Sark made this show really well worth seeing. Perhaps sticking to the poem and having it just an hour long and not so many ballads from the female performers ( got the impression all of the actors needs were being catered to and they had to have plenty to do!) I really loved Meg and Tam’s journey through the night and the shadow of the horse on the backdrop. Cut out the few swear words for which there was no particular need and this show would make an excellent family show. Adults and kids could be entertained.
With a little scaling down (it is a large set) we would certainly accept this show as part of our programme.
