Molly Naylor's My Robot Heart, Pleasance Courtyard, 22nd August

Before coming you can't blame me for being a bit confused. Yesterday I went to see Molly Taylor and today Molly Naylor. (Bizarely I also met someone from New York today called Molly Mailor). Both Taylor and Naylor are in their mid to late 20's, are gifted writers and storytellers. They also both have lots of blonde hair. Both pieces started with a personal tale about a relationship break up.

Following her's, Naylor decided to resaearch love because, "Molly + love = fear". She looked into Japaneese research into robotic love. Her piece concered three connected people: an eleven year old boy, his twenty nine year old step sister and her sixty year old father.

The stories were beautifully told and acompanied by musical duo, The Middle Ones. A really simple and effected performance that was engaging and moving.

There would be no technical barries to presenting this to a rural touring audience.

A simple show with strong parallels to the Molly Taylor piece. Five stars from me.
