'The Jabberwocky', Pop Up Productions, The Space at Surgeon's Hall, Thurs 16th Aug 12, review by Rosie Cross, Highlights

Review
I’ve always wanted someone to explain Lewis Carroll’s poem “ The Jabberwocky” to me (Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found there).  I came away having got to grips with the poem!   Lovely gentle exploration of language and imagination from this Scottish ensemble.  I was getting quite excited at the potential of the piece.   Effective bits of mime & physical theatre (I liked the bed made out of people.  Just the right amount of involvement from the audience.  The young children there were totally engaged.

The sad thing was that the company is made up of students and recent graduates who put the piece together for the Festival period only.   I spoke to one lad who was dashing off after the show  (it was early morning) to his day job at Heriot Watt university.

Why is the work suitable or not suitable / ready for rural touring ?
No  the company not able to tour
Why would you book them ?  or  Why wouldn’t you book them ?
See above
Why would it be worth pursuing this company to consider work in the future? Or not  ?
