A CLOCKWORK ORANGE – Action to the World, Pleasance Courtyard (China Plate recommendation)

Knowing that this was bound to have something to do with the film of the same name, I imagined this to be a hard and gritty production. I was not wrong.
The acting in this was excellent and dramatic, with the lead character (Alex) drawing the audience in to both loathe and love him. An intense and dark production, it was an all male cast with violence and sexuality at its core.
This was a well executed, gritty drama (or accurately described as ‘glass-edged’ by The Scotsman) which would fair better in theatre than to village hall type audiences.
