Review **** A look at Twelfth Night from Malvolio’s perspective following his incarceration. A very original, witty piece in which we, as the audience, are all involved. It demonstrates that the smallest action can lead to a series of consequences. A fantastic way to access Shakespeare, but beware – Malvolio wants revenge for what has happened to him and the audience may bear the brunt of this! The show requires no lighting or sound and is played with house lights up, although if a venue had lights they would be good to provide a focus on the playing area. A minimal set (in fact the brief for the I, Shakespeare plays was that they should fit in a suitcase), so would be ideal for rural touring. Designed for school age students, this show has a much wider appeal. The show is touring this autumn to studio theatres. CA @ NEAT |
