Francesca Milligan-Carter, Me and Miss gibbs posted by @spotonsue
This was a recommended show and is a delightful, gentle, intruguing show perfect for rural touring in everyway. Using an OHP, and video projection, Francesca takes us on a presentation/performance/lecture of her journey to find out about Miss Gibbs, the recipient of a postcard sent 100 years ago, warning her to be careful. In reality, its an exploration into geneology combined with personal interest; but I was pulled in, and want to know more. Performed with affection for the subject matter and a well paced script Francesca also proved how she could engage and chat with an audience pre-show. It needs a few tweeks for sightlines, and there's clearly scope to expand the story out to a fuller show. Should appeal to most expecially anyone researching family history.
